When asked which
of the Next-Gen-Konsolen they would prefer, said 68.8% of
readers with the Wii from Nintendo, while the PS3 with
21% and the Xbox 360 with about 7% were far behind. That
could indicate that that Nintendo's strategy, not the
best technically console to send into the race but one,
which is affordable and offers innovative game ideas,
could pay off. Also hardly surprising: about 90% of
readers have responded that the PS3 is too expensive.

I would begrudge the success of Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft,
however, until now I am disappointed. What is the use of me as
a gamer all the technical gimmicks, if only games I always
prefixed wars, which I have several hundred times on other
systems have played? I want to feel fresh air in this industry,
which focus on the essentials in their business from the eyes
seem to have lost. For me, there are currently only a few
companies that their products really orient the players, and
one of them is Nintendo. My voice got her safely.

Source: Games
Industry

German police launched a video game

The police in the English West Yorkshire laudably, the idea of
a Web-based game to launch the Teaching children to properly
deal. PCs can be a long
time through the Internet or on a network together. Game
consoles may even longer, but what is now Microsoft has
made a revolution in the networking platforms for video
games: What today is Xbox Live will soon Live
Anywhere hot and PC, consoles and even handheld
mobile phones, as well as each other. How can henceforth
player, at home on a Windows Vista-equipped computer to
play with Xbox 360 players. How can we live in Anywhere
can open an account, which is on every Platfform can
play. In the mobile phone game can be retrieved and news
stands. The idea is great, but how the whole works will
be first in over a year to see and experience.

Source:
Golem.de

Da Vinci Code should PS3 anschieben

The video game industry gets even more
Schützenilfe colleagues in the film industry. Sony wants
the newly released film Da Vinci Code end of the
year rather than Blu-Ray film, so the launch of the PS3
support. The PS3 was at the E3 in Los Angeles and is
presented because of the unusually high selling price of
600 euros (600 US $) from all sides critical voices
harvested. Sony defended its strategy, including the
argument that the PS3 Blu-Ray Player of the cheapest on
the market, while other providers rather their devices
for 900 euros and would sell more. The offer sounds
tempting in the first moment, because we finally get the
money for an additional game console of the new
generation, but could form the shot go backwards, because
the future of video formats is anything but certain. If
Blu-Ray HD-DVD against Sony probably would enforce on
many consoles to stay down, because the Blu-Ray-Laufwerk
that a large part of the price of the PS3 makes it for
the consumer is unlikely to benefit, because even for the
most advanced games, the memory capacity of an HD-DVD
sufficient.

Source: Games
Industry

The Xbox 360 Uncloaked

Dean Takahashi has finally his book on the Xbox
360.

Link: Spider

Works: The Xbox 360 Uncloaked: The Real Story Behind
Microsoft's Next-Generation Video Game Console

Tactical Iraqi

I am speechless. Perhaps they contain components from
different manufacturers, but in fact were consoles of the
same type also in the design. Sony has been at the time
of the PlayStation with this tradition broken and after a
few years, a smaller, improved PSone on the market. Also,
the PS2 appeared in the sequence after some time in the
form of the much more compact Slim PS2 version, which is
not only much smaller than the first models, but also an
integrated network adapter, the one in front of it still
had to buy separately. Microsoft Xbox spendierte of
several successors. Although designed for the consumer it
is not clear, so there are different models of the black
box. The version numbers range from 1.0 to 1.6 and there
are also several DVD drives were used. Now, the Xbox 360
will undergo a revision, and a new CPU. The new cores are
65nm and 90nm no longer in the manufacturing process,
which both heat as well as electricity to reduce
consumption of chips. Furthermore, it can be more units
to lower costs to produce.

The consoles thus move a step closer to the PC approach,
always with new components must be to the latest software to be
able to play.

Source: Games
Industry

A sewing machine for the Game Boy

That man with a video-game consoles now do more
than just play, the producers have already demonstrated,
modern systems are finally in a position to music and
movies. That is in itself
nothing new, because after all, it was always so, that
consoles with good games sold better than those with bad.
For several years, but has become more difficult since
most of Cross-platform title to be published. There are
also exceptions, and sometimes a publisher decides, for
whatever reason, a game exclusively for a specific
platform to publish. If these publishers still one of the
great as for example Ubisoft and a Toptitel like
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway announces it
deserves special attention such message. In this case
seems to Ubisoft decided to have the title only for the
PC and PS3 to announce the Xbox 360 was nowhere
mentioned. If this is really true and should really
decide Ubisoft, Microsoft in the publication of such a
peak before title to the outside, then that's a political
statement to evaluate. This should, in any case,
Microsoft aufstossen sour.

Source: Games
Industry

Ingame Advertising

Product placement is for those from well-known
films and the audience is not particularly popular,
especially when the advertising is not discrete but as a
full image. This is the world of video games not spared,
because for many years is also in Games ever more
advertising. Some games were even explicitly as
advertising media. The trend is clearly in the direction
of personalized advertising, which the online play
directly from the network into the game eingespiesen, and
it is hardly a player can protect. If that should help,
the cost of the Games to reduce the approach could also
for the benefit of consumers, but this is more than
questionable. Gamesindustry.biz has now published an
article, which quantifies how much we issue in the future
yet to come.

Source: Games
Industry

Spore: The development game

Whoever thinks that the game industry is
expected to ideas, and that they only is able to produce
destructive games, probably knows Will Wright yet. Many Zocker the first hour, the slowly
in the years to come, indulge in the old classic games
like Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros. or Bomberman in the
memory of long-past days. Most of these games are still
using emulators on the PC domestic play, but remains
bitter: mouse and keyboard as well as modern joypads if
you feel now is not more so bulky as the old input
devices from the Stone Age of video games . How
exactly will employ Nintendo this, and whether the
quality of the games will suffer, we will probably not
soon enough.

Source: Games
Industry

Get Well Gamers

Get Well Gamers is a foundation,
which aims has made Kiderabteilungen of hospitals
throughout the United States with video game systems
capabilities. Even Nintendo is very nice to me,
because I think that behind the brand are people for whom
money is not everything in this world. Also, I think that
they are very creative and always for a good innovation.
Microsoft, however, is rather unpleasant to me, but here
I can not explain why, finally have an Xbox and I think
that it's a pretty good piece of hardware. Nevertheless,
I like the mark is not quite like. That such feelings
buyers with their shopping behavior control is neither
new nor particularly exciting, but a lot about the
development of a market comment. For example, I am even
more of the view that Microsoft is good hardware and
games produced, but the customer emotionally less to bind
to white, as Sony or Nintendo. I am also quite sure that
this is an important factor for the fact that the PS2 is
still the most successful console. A study in which these
criteria were investigated, now occupied my suspicions,
at least in part, Sony and placed in favor of consumers
far ahead of Nintendo or Microsoft.

Source:
Joystiq

Pac Manhattan

You are incorrigible freaks and still plays PacMan? 'The Healing Game', so his idea would
have the aim of healing items to collect and combine them
to be so in quests or missions NPCs (Non Player
Characters) or other players to heal. A game that is
completely without violence would be avoided. The idea is
noble, and the game would certainly exciting, but whether
this would be enough buyers, we can not yet foresee, this
is the game concept yet to dare. A similar idea has
already Nintendo in his OP-Spiel
Trauma Center: Under the Knife
implemented, in which the players as surgeons can try and
act on virtual patients need.

Source:
Raph's Website

Addendum: How could I forget? The idea of a OP-Sim is ancient!
Even at times of the Amiga, there was a game called 'The
Surgeon'. It was very bad, but that is beside the point.

Education 2.0

For once, I would like to slightly away from the world of
video games, convert, but a subject up to me and probably many
other students and graduates of academic training under the
burning. A topic that is discussed repeatedly, and the fear
many have never been in our latitudes Uni-Abgänger so many
unemployed as it is today. The lucky ones, after studying find
a job, often with internship positions satisfied that also paid
accordingly. Assessment mention the companies that construct,
which will be officially aimed suitable candidates for a
permanent position out of that. In truth, they can result in
well-trained to access resources without much to pay and, in
addition, they can temporarily return intended as interns
contracts are usually short notice periods. The air is thin for
Uni-Absolventen become, especially if they intend to found a
family. Yet even here is the principle that each of his own
happiness blacksmith, and so of course we must also mention
that many are not prepared Ex-Studenten a 100% boost job, but
still feel that they have as entry-level salary for at least 6
' 000 francs (about 4,000 euros) deserve. That can only go
wrong. Nor should one think about whether it is not generally
the quality of graduates has declined. Reinhard K. Sprenger, a
doctor of philosophy, which claims
(in this
article), and at least, this leads to
the democratization of education, which is (almost) all
allowed to study, including those who are not the stuff
to have. I give him points in all, but here he makes the
bill without the use of an important variables, the
quality of teaching. Nothing comes from nothing, and when
you speak of poor students, we must (also called Doctor
of Philosophy), the teachers and university structures in
the considerations involved. In many faculties of Europe
is the abysmal care of the students and that is not
merely an overcrowded lecture halls but also the fact
that the professors dermassen busy with other things
(publish or perish), that the lectures and papers of
their proteges are secondary. Whether these abuses
through the privatization of universities that can be
corrected, I doubt, but it seems clear that urgent action
is needed.

The University as a training facility has an image eingebüsst,
technical colleges and other institutions are on the rise, and
this thing, then the university probably soon only small elite
circles reserved, because no one wants to ...

For this contribution, I was inspired by the following items:

The original hard bloggin
'scientists.
Education 2.0: permanent placements,
urbane Pennertum and quality downgrade

The uncertain future Xbox

Adam Roberts, Executive Vice President of the
Publishers Vivendi Europe, revealed in a recent interview
with GamesIndustry.biz concerned for the future of the
Xbox. In fact, Microsoft seems to be since the launch of
the Xbox 360 is not much more to the older sister to take
care of. It should also noticed the game developers, and
there is a risk that the life cycle of the remains
competitive console could end prematurely. Also, the
seller could be on Microsoft's behavior react negatively
and the Xbox no longer support, in order not to bear the
risk to their stockpiles to sit. Meanwhile, Sony seems,
despite the announcement of their PS3 still on the still
highly successful PS2 noted and one can assume that even
in the next few years games for the console will appear.
The same strategy has Sony already with the first
PlayStation persecuted, whose production recently, four
years after appear to be the PS2, has been set. Whether
these fears are true and whether Microsoft's Xbox really
in the verses distractions can disappear, probably in the
course of the year. From today's perspective, such a
strategy seems least still sensitive, but the launch of
the Xbox 360, especially in Asia and in Europe is not
exactly brilliant.

Source: Games
Industry

Production of the PlayStation set

An era is coming to an end. Sony has announced
that the production of the good old PlayStation after 12
years. Longer has become only the Atari 2600 on the
market held, namely 14 years. But fans of the gray box
must not abandon the classic games, finally, both the PS2
as well as for this year announced PS3 fully backward,
and in an emergency can be found in the network also very
good emulators for the PC, as for example
ePSXe.

Source:
Gama Sutra

Nintendo lifting the veil a little ...

Now Nintendo has also, at least in part, the
silence is broken and Satoru Iwata at the Game Developers
Conference (GDC), the company officially announced
strategy after some of the details leaked weeks ago. It
is clear that Nintendo appears to lack the resources to
the technological arms race of competitors Sony and
Microsoft say, but obviously was never the intention.
Iwata stressed that not a great game graphics package,
but the Spialbarkeit, the gameplay. Thank you, Mr. Iwata.
Thus, he reasoned, the lack of support for the
high-definition format. In his view, are still too few
televisions and video for the new standard, and are now
in the next few years slowly spread. Nintendo wanted for
the design of new video games new ways and the players
unprecedented opportunities. An important role will be
with the new security controller, which is designed, the
movements of the players using sensors to detect. Another
important strategic factor is the backward compatibility
of the Nintendo Revolution, which will be able, even
Nintendo games of the oldest generations in a new glory
to leave, and this is something hot, Nintendo has finally
been quite a few consoles on the market and the portfolio
of games is huge. This approach, however, all providers,
and Microsoft with the Xbox 360 in the field at the
shortest lever is because old Xbox games on the console
only be emulated, and the number of supported games arg
still remains too weak. Nevertheless, the bill for all
this rise, since the one is just very retro gaming in and
also can be so out of the cult of long-forgotten title
without large capital expenses beat. Unfortunately silent
Nintendo remains on the exact specifications of the
Revolution, but we can wait.

Source:
1UP.com

... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... lift!

Has Sony's Master Mind Ken Kutaragi just good
bluffing? My thesis is that
video games and video game systems to a driving factor
for the merger and hybridization of various advanced
technologies. Several industries have already thrust of
the video game industry have discovered, and these uses.
Not least, the military and the defense industry, the
video games has been going on for years, their purposes
(mis) need. Recent examples are projects of the U.S. Army
and the South Korean armed forces, which gamers as a
consultant for the development of war-simulations or to
use modern weapons systems to use, which of the control
her imitates a video game. Modern hard disks are already almost in
the terabyte range, and still has almost every PC users perform
periodic Entrümpelungsaktionen so that the computer before
louder garbage not in the knee. Well, fortunately turns the
technology-spiral ever faster and resourceful researchers find
new ways to the performance of the medium.

An interesting is throwing Samsung succeeded. They have
recently, the first 32GB flash memory card presented soon and
want to be able to much larger models to be developed. Not that
the new technology would be particularly because ultimately
lies in virtually every digital camera already such a card, but
they have a capacity of no more than a few gigabytes. The
advantages? For one contains a SSD (Solid State Disk) no moving
parts and is thus very good for the mobile sector, where
mechanical vibrations could damage hard drives, it also weighs
only about half of a conventional hard drive, takes about 95%
less power and works completely silent. Even when data
throughput, the SSD's ahead, as they can about 3 times faster
read and 1.5 times faster described as a mechanical disk. The
use game consoles in the next generation is already planned.

Source:
Teamxbox.com

In the year 2010

According to a study by the American market
research company In-Stat will focus on the current
distribution of the console market in 2010 is not much
change. After cutting a Xbox 360
they believe the reason for the
overheating problems found on the
console. It appears, at the assembly of some machines
forget the protective film to remove what the
Wärmeleitpad between the graphics chip and the heat sink
from contamination such as dust contamination. This is
obviously the derivation of the heat affected by the
graphics chip, which can lead to crashes and in the worst
case of heat exposure to graphic unit, and thus the
entire console. If this fear out to be correct, it could
be a severe setback for Microsoft's plans, the video-game
world to conquer ... jaja, the video-game world exists in
a parallel universe known to the world. Wusstet you not?
!

Addendum: Microsoft has on the allegation by GameStore24.de
responded and
issued a statement in which is that
this film very much a purpose, and the assembly and
disassembly easier. This shows once again that we should
prefer to wait before such messages without a review.
Should me a lesson.

Are video games art now?

The discussion, whether video games (also) be
art or just a vulgar excesses of pop culture, will soon
be a rich argument. In
December 2005, on this ground in Weimar an interdisciplinary
conference held to just this
question: "What is a medium?"

The website can be audio files of lectures and discussions in
Ogg Vorbis format.

Quo vadis, game industry?

In early February in California was a meeting
between some key figures in the video game industry.
Representatives from Sony, Microsoft, EA and Ubisoft
discussion on the future of video games. Gamespot.com,
under the title
"Industry icons get connected", a
recording of the speeches published. This has centered
mainly on networking of players and the further
development of the forms of distribution of the games.
There was agreement that single-player games with the
rise of broadband Internet connections around the world
rapidly lose their importance and soon thing of the past.

Raph Koster, Chief Creative Officer of Sony Online
Entertainment, is clearly expressed on the subject of online
games: "The entire video game industry's history thus far has
been an aberration. It has been a mutant monster only made
possible by unconnected computers. People always play games
together. All of you learned to play games with each other.
When you were kids, you played tag, tea parties, cops and
robbers, what have you. The single game is a strange mutant
monster which has only existed for 21 years and is about to go
away because it is unnatural and abnormal. "

Mr. Koster, I also play video games with other people rather
than alone, but only if these people are my friends and I sit
in the same room. Playing on an Internet line I miss the
emotional closeness to my teammates / opponent, I can have its
physical reaction to a game situation not see, hear maximum.
Robbers policeman and they say? Sure, I have this as a small
child and played with other children. I wonder how such a thing
after its concept should be implemented on a data line, alone
in a room ... it is my belief that when this game was out
earlier and in so doing made the clothes dirty, it was an
experience in itself. If they want people to play with each
other, then they give us ten Gamepads and games, the man with
so many people before a single screen can play in the same
place. Sony has with games such as
Buzz! Yes finally put before (of
course, there are still a lot of older games of this
type), a genius.

The second major issue was the distribution of video games in
the future. Microsoft's Peter Moore spoke about the end of the
era in which games to data sources such as CDs or DVDs burned
or crushed and sold in a store, and of a new era, one in which
the games only on the Internet. hätte vertrieben werden sollen.
First steps in this direction had already Valve with the
publication of Halflife2 undertaken, the ursprünlich only
through the online platform Steam would be distributed. It was
concluded, however, that so many potential buyers would lose,
and so the decision was taken to the game on disks for sale.

The problem with the digital distribution is, however, more
complex than you think. Valve noticed the fairly soon, as the
Steam-server whether the demand for Halflife2 for weeks and
were unlikely to reach it took months before the operation
could be stabilized. Furthermore, the Druchdringung of
households with high-speed Internet connections worldwide still
to be desired. But all to be able to download games, we need
more than just an analog modem and a phone, if you are not
months for such a download will invest, ultimately, it is not
necessarily so that the Games are less and less space would be
needed. A third aspect is the inhibition of many people,
shopping on the Internet, especially if they have no credit
cards. All these hurdles are logically gradually fall, but it
is certainly still a few decades, until the good old data
carriers have outlived.

You are your avatar

On Newscientist.com is an excerpt of an article
with the title to

read: "For a new personality, click here." Two researchers
at Stanford University have found that computer gamers by the
appearance of their avatars, which they choose in their game
behavior can be influenced.

The world according to Googlezon

Conspiracy theories, one loves it or hates it. A game that we circle of friends (you know who
you are) always willing to play, as simple and yet it is
competitively and simply weird fun. Since the release of
the first Bomberman 1983 for the MSX in Japan, the
knuddelige pyromaniac over the years several
reincarnations on all possible platforms to the latest
generation console experienced and still is around the
world very popular. His recipe is simple: a video game
absolute beginners can take control of the game
relatively quickly learn, and by the simple graphic
reserves also hectic situations in the overview.

scheint das Image des Spiels entstauben zu wollen und darüber
hinaus das Erscheinungsbild dem heutigen technischen Standard
anzupassen.
Bomberman Act:Zero , das auf der Xbox
360 erscheinen wird, kommt erwachsener daher als seine
farbenfrohen Vorgänger. Will that change soon? Hudson
seems to be the image of the game entstauben want to and
beyond the appearance of today's technical standards.
Bomberman Act: Zero, which is
available on the Xbox 360 will appear, therefore adult
colorful than his predecessor. Let's just hope that the
shot primarily in gameplay not to back off. The danger is
that the former control a very intuitive control scheme
emerges, which is really for four hands and 50 fingers
would appear given the popular maxim that more is just
better, real, as is the graphics. It is hardly surprising
that modern games try the concentrated power of the
latest hardware auszureizen, just like Bomberman games
but owe a large part of their good playability of
manageable graphics, in this case, less is definitely
more so. At first images on the website of the developer,
but it looked like it would be in Bomberman Act: Zero to
detailed characters and environments, perhaps seasoned
with explosion-screen effects.

Although it is still too early to speculate about the durable
finished product, and we can assume that at the Hudson
programming on the roots of the game bethinks: Bomberman is not
the first game that his playability of the visual splendor
sacrifice had to.

Supaidaman

ins Leben gerufenen Spiderman, der von
1977-1979 in den USA auch in Fleisch und Blut über die
Bildschirme flimmerte. Also this year, it
Duke Nukem Forever on the Tron
managed. in Entwicklung ist und dessen Veröffentlichung
schon etliche Male verschoben wurde, war als Nachfolger
des 1996 erschienenen Duke Nukem 3D geplant. The game
that since 1997 at 3D Realms in development and whose
publication has been postponed several times, as a
successor of the 1996 published Duke Nukem 3D. erst
kürzlich verlauten liess, dass nach wie vor mit Hochdruck
an dem Spiel gearbeitet wird, doch niemand glaubt so
recht an eine Veröffentlichung vor 2050. Duke Nukem If
Astonishing is that 3D Realms had recently
announced that remains with high pressure in the game
worked, but no one really believes in a publication
before 2050. Duke Nukem If Everhard, like the game of the
fans now affectionately called , is likely to be one of
the most expensive projects in the industry, which should
provide the hype probably never will be fair because the
Unreal engine currently in use until
the publication probably for a long time belong to the
old iron. I still like to let myself be surprised and
predict that the game as a cult software, despite all
sell well.

Microsoft: Revive PC gaming

Is playing on the PC passé? At least, according
to Seattlepi.com the image of the PC as a gaming platform
suffers. According to the agency head of the Mail of Griffin, it becomes one of the main tasks to " lunar mission ", planned for 2018, informs British The Times.

Installation of a telescope on the Moon will give to astronomers and physicists unique opportunities for carrying out of space researches. It is expected, that data obtained with its help will help scientists to learn better history of space and to explain the laws operating the Universe.

The lunar telescope which owing to the site can look in space much further, than the telescopes located on the Earth, should also help to understand, how to mankind to reach other planets of solar system and the planets which are being behind its limits.

According to representatives of the Ministry of Trade of the Great Britain, in "lunar mission " 2018 the British astronauts can take part also. As marks The Times, It will be serious break for the British scientists who carry out researches of space, using exclusively space vehicles.

The future lunar project will demand significant financial investments from the Great Britain. This theme was discussed at a meeting of the British minister ona science and innovations Malcolm Wicks and chapter NASA of Michael Griffin. As has declared Wicks while they with Griffin refer that the Great Britain will accept feasible participation in preparation of the mission, corresponding to its opportunities. Detailed study of this question, according to Wicks - a subject of the future negotiations.

In the most ancient space object organic connections are found out

Research of the inclusions which have been found out in a meteorite from lake Tagish (Tagish), fallen in British Columbia per 2000, gives the basis to believe, that organic substances could be brought to the Earth from space, newspaper Guardian informs.
The given meteorite, scientists consider, can be the most ancient object accessible to direct research by scientists on the Earth. Its especial scientific value is caused also by that the meteorite has been found all in a week after falling that is why almost done not influence a terrestrial atmosphere.

In 2002 in thickness of a meteorite the cavities formed by connections of carbon, similar have been found out by that make a chemical basis of an alive matter on our planet. Later 20 years after destruction of a shuttle contrast between piloted space missions and expeditions of automatic space vehicles become more and more appreciable, informs Physorg.
In the past the automatic space station "Cassini" has transmitted to year to the Earth pictures of Saturn, and a probe "Guegiens" has landed into the Titanium. Probe Stardust has collected substance of comet Wild and has delivered to the Earth a capsule with invaluable freight. Two mars rovers NASA - Spirit and Opportunity - research the Red planet. They are helped by automatic stations in an orbit of Mars. To Venus and Pluto space expeditions are sent, and the european space vehicle "Resette" makes dispositions for appointment to comet Churumova-Gerasimenko in 2014.

While robots and automatic vehicles bravely research space, astronauts remain on space "boondocks" from reasons of safety. " After destruction we have understood " Challenger ", space technologies are how much difficult and our dreams of an outer space exploration " are how much impudent, - doctor Roger Launius, managing faculty of history of space in Smitson institute speaks.

The future of the most arrogant piloted project - the International space station (MCS) - while is not clear. Manufacture of shuttles - transport shuttles on which its activity depends, - has not the best times. It is supposed, that the MCS becomes orbital shield mankinds and a scientific space platform. Its construction will manage approximately in $100 billion However quite it can appear, that the MCS so never and will not complete, and onboard it "not will lodge" anybody, except for members of the main crew.

The design of the space shuttles designed 30 years ago, has set of the lacks, to 14 astronauts cost to destruction on 114 expeditions. Shuttles for a long time have transformed to "kings of hangars ", where the army of engineers carefully studies their each detail before to take out the spacecraft on launch pad of space port. "Originally advertised as cheap vehicles of reusable use, shuttles manage NASA in $145 billion or approximately in $1,3 billion on flight ", - doctor Roger Pielke, director of the center of a science, technology and researches at university of Colorado makes comments. For the comparison, two mars rovers cost NASA approximately $900 million Calculated on activity within only 90 days, they here 2 years send pictures of a martian surface.

The problems connected with operation of shuttles, are so serious, that NASA is going to refuse completely by 2010 their use, having replaced on modern and more capacious version of module Apollo with the accelerating unit of the previous models of shuttles. After loss of "Colombia" in 2003 in a formation there were only 3 space shuttles, and for completion of construction of the MCS it is necessary to make 18 more starts. If shuttles will cease to deliver on a regular basis freights to the MCS, NASA will be compelled to suspend, and, probably, and to stop installation of scientific modules on the MCS made in the Europe and Japan, total cost from above $1.3 billion

Besides construction of the MCS, one more important event in piloted astronautics - start of the Chinese spacecraft "Chenjou-5" in 2003. Thus, China became the third power which has sent the person in space.

However all these projects cannot be considered innovative in any way and the investment of huge means demand. The Chinese project "Chengjou" - the renovated version of Soviet "Soyuz" - more likely a step back for 40 years.

The scientific results received during realization of piloted missions, are not comparable to expenses and risk. The european space agency (ESA), for example, allocates only the one eighth budget for piloted astronautics and is not going to build the piloted spacecraft, preferring to use Russian or American. The Lion's share of budget ESA leaves on creation and operation of launchers, rockets-carriers, scientific satellites or the space probes, making good profit. As Japan acts also.

Now NASA tries to restore the lost reputation in this area of an outer space exploration and actively advances projects of piloted flights. Negotiations with foreign partners on creation of base on moon by 2018 and under the project of landing of people to Mars are carried on. However because of growing problems in activity above the project of the MCS the future of these missions also while remains uncertain.

"Expedition to moon, certainly, represents for us large interest, but for the Europe travel to Mars more attractively from the scientific point of view ", - Mr. Jean-Jacque Fave, the geologist and the former astronaut managing a strategic department in the National center of space researches of France (CNES) makes comments.

But even in this case the success of martian piloted mission in the core will depend on the high-speed rockets, allowing to reduce time of overfly, and from robots which will help the person to carry out scientific researches.

The space port for UFO receives crowds of newcomers from the Earth

"I cannot tell precisely when they will arrive, but I know, that it happens ", - the 39-years teacher of elementary school Reynaldo Rios, the inhabitant tiny small Puerto Rico town "Lajas" speaks. Having received blessing of local authorities, Rios has devoted itself to construction of a landing strip for UFO.

At desire aliens can already orient now. On a roadside of a country road, in a southwest from Puerto Rico, for them the sign is installed: on a green board the silhouette of a flying saucer, marked by an inscription " the Extraterrestrial highway " is represented.

Local Lajas residents have apprehended appearance of such invitation differently. One have cheered up, in fact Rios, to all other, confirms, that at 13-years age "communicated" with alien visitors: white lights have rushed into his bedroom, have entered in a body and have jumped out of a wound which the guy has received, playing basketball.

Other townspeople have become angry and began to reproach mayor Marcos Irizarry, supported project Rios, with senseless expenditure of money: " It in general any nonsense, - is irritated 47-years Luis Arocho). - In our country crisis, and politicians instead of creating new workplaces, create imaginations".

At last, the third category of inhabitants Lajas argues, as it seems to them, more sensibly. Traffic signs and similarity of space port they calculate to attract not " green little men ", and usual "pink" humanoids - tourists with thick purses.

Mayor Irizarri insists on the same also. Speaks, that his purpose - to attract people in the small town strongly requiring tourist dollars. The head of municipality explains, that authorities will not finance the project. Instead of it they will help Rios with obtaining corresponding sanctions and the license for construction.

But mayor also is among "Lajas people", thinking, that they observed in this area of UFO: " This very mysterious place, - speaks Irizarri which once saw the red shone object manufactured zigzags above hills. - in our small town many saw such things ".

Naming professor Rejnaldo Rios stands in an atmosphere of with a flying saucer and waits. And still there is a company which has safely undertaken the decision of the given problem.

To fighting robots this firm has come through medicine. Yes, on computer technologies for medical branch (together with for business) " American company Vecna Technologies has eaten a dog ".

But, in general, such expansion of activity not so is surprising. Heroically take out shooted fighter from under fire - than not the worthy purpose for medical-sister? Only here the nurse (or the nurse) XXI centuries, will be charged similar, soon from a network of 220 volt to drink lethally toxicant methanol, and she will squeeze out from a breast all of 227 kgs.

The current project of robotic units Vecna refers to "the Search and saving robot of a battlefield " (Battlefield Extraction and Retrieval Robot - BEAR). It is not similar to a bear, and looks like characters from of some fantastic films and animated cartoons, type caterpillar "Johnny-5" from "Short circuit".

Highlight BEAR is on what he moves. These are two pairs the caterpillars{tracks} bridged by the hinge on one the extremities in such a manner that the robot can on them how to slide, as if the tank to lift the case above (for example to put a load in a body of the machine), and completely to be straightened and use these caterpillars already as legs - the top caterpillars - as femurs, bottom - as an anticnemion, accordingly.

Such robot-transformer persistently suggests about Japanese anime, however, our history occursin the USA and in a reality.

All top part of the robot is not casually executed in humanoid appearance. So, developers believe, the machine can lift (accurately and reliably) is better and to carry the wounded person. Thus built in arms and a torso hydraulic drives are calculated on a useful load almost in 227 kgs.

Owing to "platform-tumbler toy" with a heap of electronics and the gyroscopes, set up on two big wheels, BEAR already has shown ability long to keep equilibrium and to transport on two arms of "fighter" (in which role, the truth, the dummy equipped in a military way) acted.

India's Mars mission

The Indian space agency plans to send in 2012-2013 pilotless mission to Mars to research a chemical compound of an atmosphere and a ground of a planet. Tasks of this mission will include searches of tracks of a life, newspaper Hindustan Times writes.

"Mars appears on our horizon... Interesting data have allowed to obtain Missions of the USA and the European space agency. Give we shall look, what benefit our mission can bring", - the head of the Indian agency on research of space Madhavan Nair has told.

The nearest two-three years India is going to send the first pilotless vehicle to moon. Probe Chandrayaan-1 will conduct two years in a lunar orbit. For this time it should make new topographical and mineralogical cards of the natural satellite of the Earth.

In space India calculates the first start of the person to execute in 2014. In fact such solid organization - NASA, such fancy idea - to consider our star from different directions, even with invisible. And thus such banal name - STEREO... But, anyhow, the project has begun activity in space.

So, STEREO (Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory, it it is literally - " the observatory of is solar-terrestrial interactions ") is a pair the next satellites which have gone on October, 26th from a cape Canaveral in Florida on an earth orbit. And, that is interesting, at once together.

This project which has become by result of close cooperation NASA, laboratories of applied physics of university of John Hopkins (Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory) and Goddard Space Flight Center, is directed on research of the Sun.
The main scientific interest, for the sake of which all it do, - crown lets. About one of the largest such events we somehow told, and you, should be, already know, that such flash can appear for astronauts fatally dangerous.

And so, there is nothing surprising that vehicles have sent right now: in fact the new cycle of solar activity has already begun, and to astrophysics now is what to research.
Satellites have been constructed almost one year ago. Originally them planned to send into an orbit in the end of summer. However design defects in one of missile stages have forced to transfer start all over again on the middle of September, and after - on the end of October.

One of the main problems because of whom the solar astrophysics could not receive a full picture, consists that both earth observers, and orbital satellites can see our star only from one point, receiving the flat image.

Basically, a volumetric kind to receive not difficultly - owing to some displacement of an orbital observatory it is possible to glance for an edge of the solar disc, and the Sun rotates, showing all surface.

Problem, however, that all these images, which scientists received earlier, showed the Sun during each moment of time only on the one hand, and another remained inaccessible to the observer.

To find out about that occurs on the invisible party, it was possible only by means of indirect methods.

And here for obtaining simultaneous pictures of a heavenly body from the different parties experts have thought up satellites STEREO (for difference they are named simplly with " observatory A " and " observatory B "), each of which sees only the "" part of the image. But both of them are synchronized, and from each of them it is possible to make a three-dimensional picture of two bidimentional images.

That the image was volumetric enough, both observatories move around of the Earth on the extended elliptical orbits. To carry them in space of scientists have conceived by means of a gravitational field of moon.

Manufacturing of multipurpose robots will be a mainstream in the Japanese industry in XXI century

The Ministry of Economics, trade and industries planning to select at an exhibition of robots spent to Tokyo about 50 best models, to begin their batch production. In opinion of representatives of the ministry, the robotics will be the main direction of the Japanese industry in XXI century.

For a batch production the most perfect models which will use mass demand are selected only. The majority of the models presented at the Tokyo exhibition, still require additional modernizing. Robots should know how to speak on several foreign languages, independently to patrol dangerous sites, to accompany and transport invalids.

On the World's fair of a robotics which will be spent in March, 2005 in three cities of prefecture Aiti, the Ministry of Economics, trade and will present the industry advanced achievements of a domestic robotics.

The ministry will render the target help to manufacturers of robots of new generation and to introduce their development in a batch production in 2006. By way of experiment by 2010 " the society of the future "where robots can coexist with people will be created. The purpose of experiment consists in converting a robotics into one of key industries of the national industry, alongside with its such pillar, as motor industry.

In 2004 on development of a robotics from the state budget the sum at a rate of 3,1 billion yens (25 million 800 thousand dollars) will be chosen.

In February the ministry will present the plan of holding of an exhibition of pre-production models of robots of new generation. Thus the ministry will incur half of expenditures on holding of research and development operations and will ensure full financing development of those models which will be presented at this exhibition.

According to the planned plan, eight robots will be intended for support of older persons and patroling of dangerous sites at the night, nine more robots will make them a backup command, 15 robots will look after children in kindergartens and 20 robots in the form of an invalid armchair will facilitate a life to invalids.

For security of a guarantee of safety at the first stage behind operation of each robot the official will continuously observe, but basically robots should displace and operate independently.

Visitors of an exhibition will see fascinating scenes of game of robots with children, cleaning of dust and conversation with foreign visitors in English and Chinese languages.

Robots for a red planet

On horizon of NASA Mars has loomed. In May and June on the Red planet absolutely identical two robots on sprockets which in January will land in area of equator of a planet will be started. The total cost of the program makes 800 million dollars.

"At the moment and NASA, and are very necessary to all country good news from space, and I consider, that my operation - to give to them such news ", - Steve Skvajers from Kornel university, the principal expert of program Mars Exploration Rover speaks.

The present program is the next attempt of NASA to know, whether there was sometime a life on Mars, to investigate its climate and geological structure and to prepare landing to Mars the person.

As representatives of NASA have stated, robots are investigated, first of all, by geological data who can prove, that in the remote past on a planet there were essential stores of water and an atmosphere, suitable for a life.

Modern robots remind the predecessor, device Sojourner who has landed on Mars in 1997 a little. Images of this small robot similar to a toy creeping on a planet of color of a rust, are known all over the world.

However then the main task was to show a level of development of technique, the serious scientific purposes before expedition{dispatch} it was not put, Peter Tejzinger tells, project-manager Mars Exploration Rover. Sojourner could depart from a place of a landing of all on some kilometers. And new robots can work in radius of two thirds of mile from a place of a landing, that considerably expands opportunities of research of a surface of Mars.

For their flight prepare in special locations with a clean atmosphere in space center Kennedy. Each device weighs about 400 pounds (180 kg). Robots are equipped by several scientific instruments, for what by the right name them laboratories on sprockets. Panoramic 3-D the chamber, giving the image of a high resolution, will help scientists to investigate in detail a landscape of Mars and to collect by means of robots exemplars of rocks and ground. Each robot is supplied by three types of spectrometers which will allow to determine structure of finds.

All instruments are built in "hands" of the robot on which ends cutting lobes for transiting through high layers of rocks and study of their internal structure are.

Gagarin Jury Alekseevich - The biography

BIRTH DATE AND BIRTH-PLACE: Was born on March, 9th, 1934 in the city of Gzhatsk (nowadays Gagarin) Gzhatsk (nowadays Gagarinsk) area of Smolensk area in family of the collective farmer. Right now we start to envy these lucky beggars. To these space tourists of the future with the ticket for $200 thousand in a pocket. Envy eating when you see these armchairs on which they will sit. The head of empire Virgin as a whole and companies Virgin Galactic in particular has arranged presentation at festival NextFest, traditional a miracle-forum of American magazine Wired.

To spectators have been shown "soaring" above a stage SpaceShipOne and a breadboard model of the successor full-scale - with the right board opened that the interior developed not by somebody was visible, and Philippe Starck which is also the author of trade mark Virgin Galactic.

New SS2, also known under name VSS Enterprise, unlike SS1, is not going to beat any records. Its applicability - exclusively space tourism.

Therefore the ship approximately is three times larger than the predecessor and eight person contains: six passengers (in interior with two lines on three armchairs in everyone) and two pilots (in the cabin separated from interior).

" Now it is strange to me to think of this, but in 12 months we shall promulgate true spaceship and right after this we shall begin test flights ", - has informed collapsed in one of futuristic armchairs Branson.

SpaceShipTwo, as well as the second generation of self-summer-разгонщика WhiteKnightTwo (WK2) which will lift SS2 on height of 18,2 thousand meters, builds the company legendary Burt Rutan Scaled Composites, is more exact - her "daughter" Spaceship Company.

All works are almost completed, and the test flights planned on the beginning of 2008, will transit in the Californian Mohave desert.

The sea star-robot studies to go and limp

Lets take for an example a dog who had interrupted one paw. It is improbable, that dog will rise as driven or will fall to the ground. More likely dog, having taken advantage of three healthy paws, will escape in a safe place. And here for the majority of independent robots damage of a leg of death similarly to. However, one machine on an example of a dog managed to something to be learned.

To Troy the American researchers - Josh Bongard from university of Vermont (UVM), and also Victor Zykov and Course Hod Lipson from Cornell University - have published in magazine Science article in which have described the four-footed robot similar to a starfish capable without assistance to recover from "wound" by means of modelling.

" We still have not given this robot of the official name, but among themselves usually we call it the Starfish, and we does not confuse, that at the true starfish five legs, instead of four, - has told Bongard. - Generally, the alive starfish is much better than our robot regarding restoration after damages because she actually can grow up anew legs ".

Authors of work write, that their machine uses intercoupling " perception - actuating " to study an own structure and subsequently to use this " self-model " for movement. And when the part of a leg is removed, the robot adapts the model for creation alternative " gait ". This concept can help with design of new difficult machines and throw light on " self-modelling " at animals.

In other words, instead of giving the robot a set of rigid instructions, researchers allow the machine" to open own nature " - to solve, how to operate themselves: first the robot learns itself to go, and in case of damage - to limp.

" The majority of robots has the fixed model - the program incorporated by engineers, - explains Lipson. - We for the first time have shown, how the model can appear inside of the robot. It makes machines adaptive at a new level because it is possible to set the task of them, not caring about creation of the program for its performance.

So, at the first stage the robot "knows", it consists of what parts, however "does not understand", how they are arranged and as them to use for performance of the main task - movements forward.

"At first the robot at all does not know, on what it is similar. Everything, that is known to it, - it can be the snake, a tree or something else ", - explains Lipson.

To understand itself to the machine the scientific method helps: the theory - experiment - the advanced theory - other experiment, and so on.

As a result the robot starts to create a series of computer models of own arrangement, jointing the parts in the casual image. After that the machine develops control words, which it could give engines to check up the created models.

Then there comes the key moment: the robot chooses control words to receive result depending on which will estimate the created model. Then the machine executes these control words and reconsiders model. It is a cycle 16 times repeat, and as a result the robot tries to move from a place.

" The machine does not have any uniform model of - it simultaneously has a set of variants which compete with each other ", - speaks Lipson. As a result the robot develops awkward, but quite functional gait, and the most effective variant while is the way at which the robot bases on "stomach", tightens the body, makes a start "back" legs, rolls over, rolled. It is difficult to describe words, but it is really similar to movement of a starfish.

But here engineers delete a part of one leg, and the robot, "understanding", that cannot move, anew starts to build and check 16 models "to invent" new gait. With all this "starfish" is helped by the virtual version itself ", which the robot builds to observe own movements. Each time when the machine makes a step, it updates this model "hurriedly" and uses it for a following step.

Bongard considers, that the robot, somewhat, "is conscious" at a primitive level because it " thinks of itself ". Researchers, meanwhile, recognize, that the robot in itself idle time, and successes while modest, but the basic algorithm can be already applied in much more difficult machines to allow them to adapt to changes in a surrounding medium and independently to repair itself, replacing details.

" Robots on other planets should be able to continue the mission without human intervention in case of, If they are damaged and cannot inform on a problem to the Earth ", - has noticed Bongard, and it is difficult to disagree with it.

The pointed mountains have rejuvenated the Moon unknown gas

The moon which seems absolutely fallen asleep and lifeless, earlier showed attributes of volcanic activity.

As it was found out, it was more recently - to astronomical measures,
Certainly. They should collapse for any 50 million years ".

On the Earth the wind and water quickly enough would destroy similar structures.
On the Moon as we know, such factors are not present, but it is exposed to continuous bombardment by space objects like tiny asteroids. And it leads to practically same effect, as terrestrial erosion.

Comparing exact scale representations Ina with other sites of a lunar surface (much more "shabby"), scientists have estimated age of these mountains approximately in 2 million years.

On Mars it is not audible loud shouts.

Amanda Hanford and Lyle Long from Pennsylvania State University have lead computer modelling passages of sound waves to a martian atmosphere.

Proceeding from low density of an atmosphere of Mars, it is already possible to assume, that the sound will extend there badly.

However the American scientists have executed numerical experiment which has allowed in more details and to describe precisely travel of a sound on Mars.

They have filled a virtual box with a virtual atmosphere in amount of 10 million molecules of carbonic gas (The basic component of an atmosphere of the Red planet), movement of each of which paid off a computer.

The modelled sound wave passed from one end of a box on another.
The computer has shown, that a loud sound which on the Earth it is easy travel on distance in some kilometers, completely will calm down after passage of several tens meters on Mars.

Even shrill squeal of a petrol lawn-mower there would be absolute silence already through 100 meters, authors of research confirm.

It, probably, should be considered to TV men who simulate landing people to Mars in Canada with all possible credibility.

It is possible to listen to a roar of the Big Explosion on the Internet

Professor John Cramer from university University of Washington is convinced that the sound of the Big Explosion was similar to noise of the jet airplane, flying by at night above your house at height of 30 meters.

Cramer 11 years are engaged in researches of the Big Explosion which has happened 13 billion years ago. Until recently they have been absolutely isolated from a surface and as has appeared, relied on uranium ores as an energy source for a life.

This opening have made by Tullis Onstott from university of Princeton, Liza Pratt from university of Indiana in Bloomington (Indiana University, Bloomington) and a lot of other authors from the several scientific organizations of the USA, Canada, Taiwan and Germany.

"The rocky bark of the Earth actually is not experienced on depths more 1km below a surface. Organisms which we describe in this work, live in completely different world, in comparison with what we know on a surface ", - Liza Pratt speaks.

At once we shall tell: bacteria which live in the subsoil waters exuding from the big depth, or in others environments, - not news. However till now remains to unknown persons, whether these underground microorganisms have been rather recently brought from a surface and now die out, or they - old and permanent residents of so unusual inhabitancy.

However, opening of last years have forced biologists to reconsider representations about an opportunity of a life in the most improbable conditions.

It is enough to recollect almost immortal bacteria which live in the breed laying on 800 meters below a level of a bottom of ocean, the surprising photosynthetic bacterium living near of geothermal sources on ocean bottom where there is no sunlight, and also - bacteria of lake the East.

Now the history of deep communities has received interesting continuation. Authors of work researched new, filled water, a break on one of gold mines about Johannesburg. 54 days they sampled some the water filtered mine from the big depth.

The analysis of DNA has shown presence at tests of water of several kinds of bacteria among which the new kind dominated over department Firmicutes.

It is necessary to tell, not the first opening of bacteria in mines of the republic of South Africa - in 2002 we informed it on the same find. But, first, beginners live even more deeply, than those bacteria that has been found earlier, and secondly (and this main thing) - new work of researchers has slightly opened a veil of secret above a source of their food.

Scientists have found out, that in the closed underground environment of bacterium Firmicutes play the same role, that on a surface play photosynthesizing organisms. They acquire a certain primary energy to give it further to all members of community.

On a surface as the primary source of energy for all alive we see beams of the Sun. Plants accumulate the weight due to photosynthesis, animals eat plants and so on.

And here under the ground, authors of work confirm, as a primary energy source radiation of uranium ores serves. It splits water into hydrogen and oxygen, and also promotes formation of sulfates from minerals containing sulfur.

And, as has shown research, that new kind Firmicutes, that scientists have found in a break, uses for the feed a combination of hydrogen and sulfates, and waste of ability to live of this bacterium already are a source of food for other microorganisms of the given break.

The analysis of age of a break in a combination to the genetic analysis of bacteria have shown, that they completely have been isolated from the ground relatives from 3 up to 25 million years ago.

But as superficial bacteria have got there for the first time as have adapted and have managed to colonize the area laying so deeply within the limits of a bark of the Earth, - remains secret.

American radiosatellite is started from a platform in Pacific Ocean

On the night of Tuesday in Pacific ocean successful start of the launcher Zenith-3SL within the limits of the program « Marine start » is executed, informs ITAR-TASS.

The rocket which has started from floating space port will deliver to an orbit the American satellite of broadcasting XM-4 of the company «Satellite Radio ».

Start of the satellite was postponed once because of technical malfunctions.
Started became already the fifth start which has been executed by company Sea Launch in 2006.

Satellite HM-4 created by corporation Boeing, has weight of 5193 kgs. Term of its activity is calculated for 15 years. Satellite will provide broadcasting in territory of the USA and Canada for an audience in seven millions person.

Three similar satellites XM have been started by Marine start in March, May, 2001, and also in February, 2005.

Now Sea Launch is the unique company in the world, capable to execute starts from platforms on water. In days of Pifagorus (VI century) Greeks named this planet "Phaeton" that means « shining, radiant », Aristotel (IV century) has named Mars «Ares» named the god of war.

The image of Mars made by a computer from hundred of photos from "Viking". Oval spots at the left - huge volcanos. Mars - the first planet after the Earth Solar system to which the person has shown special interest with hope, that there is the life exists. Hardly any planet has caused in people so much disputes and discussions, as Mars. People of the most various occupations and age argued not only scientists, but also. Methods of researches were improved, astronomers of different generations replaced each other, character of discussions changed also. In XIX century argued, mainly, on channels on Mars, about presence there reasonable inhabitants - martians. Argued on existence on Mars vegetation and in general an organic life.
The greatest number of fancy novels, stories, stories is devoted to what planet? Certainly, to Mars. The imagination of writers warmed up interest of general public to the nature of a mysterious planet. Astronomers threw questions.

There were decades, methods of researches varied, our knowledge of the nature of a red planet collected. On a place of one riddles there were others, the number of the scientists grew, seeked to get into secrets of Mars.
